additional question inca trail may 2010

Hello,

We are 2 Belgians interested to do the Inca trail in May 2010. As the chat didn't seem to work on our computer, we would like to ask you one more question via mail:

- in order to be in time to catch the train in aguas calientes, at what time do we have to leave the Machu Picchu site (walking or by bus)?

The reason why we ask it, is that we want to be sure to have enough time to enjoy the site in one day, so we are hesitating to stay one more day in Aguas Calientes.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Regards,

Bart and Griet

Dear Bart & Griet,

Thank you for your interest in our services.

There are many departures from Aguas Calientes during the day. In the afternoon, they start at 1.30 pm. People usually have the time to walk around Machu Picchu after the guided tour which ends at 10.30, then have a quick lunch and catch the train. If you would like to spend more time in Machu Picchu and not be anxious about losing the train, I recommend you to spend the night in Aguas Calientes. Even if we ask for the latest train, we are not sure there will be availability. The railroad company gives us tickets depending on their availability, not always our choice.

Should you need anything else, feel free to contact us again.

Best wishes,
