Suggested treks
All treks, without exception, start from Cusco, with hotel pickup, a transfer to the starting point, an arrival that is always in Aguas Calientes or directly at Machu Picchu depending on the chosen trek, and a return to Cusco on the last day of the trek by train to Ollantaytambo, then by bus to Cusco. These elements are common to all treks.
There are a total of 3 treks that we offer, each available in 2 versions:
- The Short Inca Trail trek has a single entry point, called KM 104.
- The Long Inca Trail trek has a single entry point, called KM 82.
- The Inca Trail Imperial 5-day trek. This is the luxury, all-comfort version, with an additional day in Aguas Calientes.
- The Salcantay trek.
The Inca Trail Journey and Inca Trail Classic treks are undeniably the most famous in Peru for reaching Machu Picchu. However, the Salcantay Majestic trek is becoming increasingly popular, as it offers an immersive experience open to all ages, focused on natural discoveries, and most importantly, without the constraint of limited spots on the Inca Trail trek. In summary: affordable, less crowded, with more expansive landscapes, nature and discovery-oriented, without archaeological ruins. Due to its growing success and because it meets the expectations of the most demanding travelers, we have created a dedicated website:
https://salcantay.info, where you will find all the necessary information and the option to book online.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the traditional option to reach Machu Picchu from Cusco: the classic excursion, which consists of a round-trip by train. Our website https://cusco-tour.com offers excursions and customizable services for all budgets to visit the Cusco region and Machu Picchu, including train tickets, buses, Machu Picchu entrance tickets, and even hotel accommodation in Aguas Calientes, all of which can be booked separately. And for those who only wish to purchase the Machu Picchu entrance ticket, our dedicated website https://ticket-machupicchu.com provides real-time availability and online sales of entrance tickets, including our VIP tickets allowing entry on any day at any time.
