The coronavirus pandemic affecting the world does not spare Peru. Below a brief on the situation.
On March 6, 2020 and after more than 100,000 cases worldwide, Peru had its first case of a person infected with the coronavirus. A 25-year-old man returning from Europe on February 26 presented symptoms that were confirmed to be those of the coronavirus. This person, patient zero, is now fully recovered and released on March 16.

Since March 6, 2020, Peru has taken sanitary measures. On March 11, President Martín Vizcarra applied a 14-day quarantine for anyone coming from France, Italy, Spain or China. But the most important measure was announced on March 15 by the President, declaring a state of emergency from midnight on March 16 and for 15 days.
